Ensure your WordPress YouTube embeds are privacy-conscious with our new “Osom for YouTube” plugin in just one click.
If you aim to enhance your website’s cookie compliance and protect viewer privacy for your YouTube embedded videos, simply install and activate Osom for YouTube.
Upon activation, all your WordPress YouTube embed blocks will automatically load videos from the no-cookie domain (youtube-nocookie.com). This applies to both existing embeds and any new ones you add.
- There’s no need to alter URLs.
- There’s no need to revisit old embeds.
- There’s no need for additional settings.
“Osom for YouTube” handles everything for you.
How Does Osom For YouTube Work
Traditionally, when you embed a YouTube URL in the WordPress Site Editor, it is loaded from YouTube’s default domain.
However, after installing Osom for YouTube, all your Site Editor YouTube embeds (both old and new) will automatically transform so that the URL loads from the YouTube no-cookie domain.
The plugin does not require any additional settings. Simply paste the YouTube URL into the block editor as usual, and the plugin will take care of the rest.

Future Features
Currently, the plugin enhances the user experience with the YouTube embed block by loading videos from the no-cookie domain, enhancing viewer privacy and facilitating your compliance with GDPR and CCPA regulations.
But we have several exciting updates in store for Osom for YouTube, including:
- An option to display only videos from the same channel at video’s end.
- An option to include a subscribe button.
- An option to display the video in a lightbox.
Which feature would you like to see in the next update? We welcome your suggestions!
